Nearly six years ago my husband and I bought our fixer upper. A 938 square foot southern California farmhouse, originally built in 1972. Over the last few years we have spent an immeasurable amount of time renovating it to suit our family of 6. Including adding a 500 square foot master suite to our previously 2 bedroom 1 bath house. I suppose I have always been a big DIY’er, but my passion has only grown through the process and my poor husband has come home to ripped apart trim work and newly painted rooms more times than I can count lol. I wish I could say that we are done with all our large projects, but honestly I’m not sure that will ever really be true (should I apologize to my husband?). My mind is always thinking about the best ways we can update or change our home to fit our needs better. And of course it has to be on a tight budget!
I believe home should be your sanctuary. The one place you always feel welcome and most comfortable, the most YOU. I’m a lover and do-er of all things DIY, and a lover of all things vintage, coffee, Target (but who isn’t?) and FAMILY! I created this blog not only as an outlet to share all that we have accomplished, but also to get inspiration from others who are on this crazy home reno path.
